Downloading ISO files from datastore fails with http error 500.

This error is same when downloading ISO files either using vCenter web console (Flesh/HTML) or Host access. You may following lines in hostd process.

This happens because one or more VM’s have attached affected ISO file that isn’t releasing lock. You can attach another ISO or set VM’s CDROM property to use ‘client device’. If that doesn’t work power off the VM and use ‘client device’ to release the lock on affected ISO file.
